In a bid to tackle the rising levels of anxiety and distress caused by unemployment and debt, the NHS has recently launched a new ‘Stressline’.
The new number is 0300 123 2000 and is open from 8am-10pm daily.
030 phone numbers are exclusively for public bodies and charities to use and offer exactly the same benefits as other non-geographic telephone numbers (e.g. 0800 numbers).
There is also a range of 03 numbers that any organisations can use: 033 numbers.
Here are 10 reasons why the NHS Stressline is an 03 Phone Number.
1) 03 numbers cost people the same to call as standard landline numbers (01/02 numbers) – even from a mobile phone.
2) They are included in the free minutes allocations offered by all landline and mobile tariffs.
3) They work alongside any landline or mobile number and this can be changed instantly at anytime. This enables people to take calls wherever they are.
4) Online call statistics work in conjunction with 03 phone numbers which enables people to find out how many calls they have recieved, how many they have missed and when their busy periods are. This helps organisations make smarter decisions about their marketing and plan their staffing levels effectively.
5) An 03 number is perfect for disaster recovery. For example, if your landline fails or in the event of an office evacuation you can simply divert calls to an alternative mobile/landline number instantly.
6) Organisations can handpick a telephone number that their callers will remember easily – e.g. 0333 123 4567.
7) Callers can be queued so all important calls will be answered.
03 numbers are inexpensive to run and if you look in the right place you can find a provider that gives you thousands of free calls to your number and you’ll only pay between 0.5 pence and 1 pence per minute for each of the calls you receive after that.
9) Callers can hear an audio message when they phone an 03 number – e.g. “Thanks for calling XYZ”. This ensures that people know they have dialled the correct number and many smaller companies use this to portray a bigger and established image.
10) 03 numbers are future proof. In 2010 more UK calls will be made from landlines than mobiles. Because 03 numbers are the most cost effective phone numbers for mobile users – this ensures that organisations that use them will encourage more calls.
03 numbers are becoming more and more popular by the day. Many UK organisations are now using them including the BBC, National Blood Service, Capital Radio, Comic Relief and numerous small businesses. This is likely to be because they offer all the benefits of 08 numbers whilst giving callers exceptional value. This also means they are not subject to negative publicity as they are trusted and ethical telephone numbers.
It seems that with 03 numbers – everyone’s a winner.
