Since man learned how hairstyles have a profound effect on their overall appearance they have invented many hair care methods and hairstyles. Some of these methods for styling the hair still live to this day, one of those is the use of hair straightener. In many paintings you will see the different hairstyles of the different eras of mans history. This is because they have long ago discovered that how your hair looks makes you beautiful and gorgeous or otherwise. The state of your hair attracts the attention of other people, yes your hair conveys how confident you are of yourself and how you take care of yourself meticulously. What’s not so good is that despite the numerous things that you can do to your locks they sometimes fall short of your expectations and thus, bad hair days.

Yet no matter how you properly groom your hair there are still times when bad hair days appear. This is because there are many factors that affect your hair. There is the heredity. How your natural hair looks and how much hair you have is the product of your parentage. There are the hormones which are a factor why many women experience hair loss. Then there are the environmental factors. Our hair sadly is exposed to a daily beating of chemicals from hair color, hair perm, or shampoos, to dust, to humidity etc. This is why today our hair needs more care than it needed in the past. So take the time to review your hair care routine against these proper hair maintenance tips and see which things you need to change because it could be what you’re doing that’s contributing to the bad hair days that you have.

1. Shampooing your hair is an important step in cleaning your hair. Always use good quality products that do not contain laurel sulfate or sodium laurel sulfate. They are synthetic chemicals that are used in shampoos to give it lather but are actually not good for your hair.

2. Use trial and error method in selecting the right shampoo for your type of hair or you can ask from your friends who have the same type of hair that you have.
 

3. By all means sleep. The time spent for sleeping is the time your body repairs itself. Lack of sleep causes your hair to look dull and lifeless.

4. Alcohol causes dry hair so avoid the use of styling products such as hair sprays that contain even low levels of alcohol.

5. As much as possible do not let styling products such as gels come in contact with your scalp because this blocks the pores and prevents new hair from coming out.

6. Before sleeping remove styling product residues from your hair and scalp to avoid your pores from getting blocked by these residues. For this you can use 6 tablespoons of beer added to 1 cup of warm water as a final rinse.

7. If you are a swimmer or just love to swim from time to time avoid jumping into the pool without having wet your hair first with plain water because pool water contains chlorine.

8. When using a hair dryer use only low to medium heat and don’t let the dryer linger on your one area of your head for long. A hot setting is not good for your hair and scalp.

9. Use the top quality hair tools.  This goes with out saying.  If you use the wrong curling iron or hair straightener, you will spend more time to correct the mistakes.
